Par ailleurs, deux essais de chute extr\u00eame ont aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9s \u00e0 bien et ont donn\u00e9 des r\u00e9sultats satisfaisants. Les blocs et les Cubipod sont des pi\u00e8ces massives qui peuvent supporter des chutes sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 celles des pi\u00e8ces <i>bulky<\/i>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Les essais de basculement et de chute libre de prototypes sur des plateformes de b\u00e9ton arm\u00e9 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9s dans le port d\u2019Alicante (Espagne) en mars 2008. Des prototypes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9s avec le m\u00eame b\u00e9ton pour les diff\u00e9rents essais de chute. Les prototypes de Cubipod ont r\u00e9sist\u00e9, sans se rompre, \u00e0 des chutes de hauteurs 50 % sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 celles des blocs cubiques classiques, et des chutes extr\u00eames de Cubipod de 8,5 m et 9,5 m de hauteur ont \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9es.<\/p>\r\n<p>La forme g\u00e9om\u00e9trique du Cubipod favorise de petites fractures des bords qui permettent de r\u00e9duire les acc\u00e9l\u00e9rations du corps central ainsi que le degr\u00e9 de fractures internes qui provoquent la rupture globale de la pi\u00e8ce.
